Auto-Roller Supporting #Groundsweek 2026 – Celebrating Groundskeepers and Cricket Grounds Teams

At Auto-Roller, we know that great sport starts with great grounds management. Every well-prepared cricket square, sports pitch, and playing surface relies on the dedication and expertise of hardworking groundskeepers.

That’s why we’re proud to support Grounds Management Association’s #Groundsweek, taking place 23rd–29th March 2026.

#Groundsweek is an annual campaign that celebrates the vital role of grounds staff and volunteers who maintain sports surfaces across the UK. From grassroots clubs to professional venues, grounds teams work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure sport can take place safely and successfully.

To help highlight this important work, Auto-Roller will be running two competitions during #Groundsweek, giving groundskeepers and sports clubs the chance to win Auto-Roller merchandise while helping spread the word about the profession.

Recognising the Hard Work of Groundskeepers

Groundskeepers are often the unsung heroes of sport. Early mornings, long days and careful preparation go into creating the playing surfaces used for cricket, football, rugby and many other sports.

As part of our #Groundsweek celebrations, we want to help recognise and promote the incredible work being done by grounds staff across the UK.

Competition 1: Nominate a Groundskeeper or Grounds Team

Do you know a groundskeeper or grounds team who deserve recognition for their hard work and dedication?

We are inviting clubs, players and supporters to nominate a groundskeeper or grounds team who go above and beyond to maintain their sports facilities.

How to enter:

• Send us a message telling us who you would like to nominate and why

• You are welcome to include a photo, but this is not required if the nominee has not authorised one to be shared

• Submit your entry by 17th March

During GroundsWeek, we will share your nominations across our social media channels to celebrate the people who work hard behind the scenes to make sport possible.

If a photo is not included, we will use your words to create the shout-out and tag your club so the recognition can still be shared with the wider community.

Every nomination will be automatically entered into a prize draw to win Auto-Roller merchandise.

Show Us Your Auto-Roller

Auto-Rollers are trusted by cricket clubs and grounds teams across the UK to prepare consistent and reliable playing surfaces. Many groundskeepers take pride in keeping their equipment in excellent condition.

For our second GroundsWeek competition, we want to see your Auto-Roller.

Competition 2: The Smartest Auto-Roller

Send us a photo of you or your groundsworker with your Auto-Roller.

Entries can include:

• Groundskeepers working with their roller

• Your Auto-Roller in action on the pitch

• A freshly cleaned or well-maintained machine

Our team will judge the entries and select the winner based on the ‘smartest’ Auto-Roller.

We’re looking forward to seeing how clubs take pride in their equipment and the role it plays in preparing high-quality cricket pitches.

Winners Announced After GroundsWeek

Both competitions will run throughout GroundsWeek (23rd–29th March 2026).

Once the week has finished, the Auto-Roller team will select the winners and contact them directly to arrange delivery of their Auto-Roller merchandise prizes.

Supporting the work of groundskeepers is something we are passionate about at Auto-Roller. From grassroots cricket clubs to professional sports facilities, the commitment and expertise of grounds teams plays a crucial role in making sport possible.
